Key Policies at the touch of a button
Safeguarding Children Policy
Nothing is more important than children’s welfare. Every child deserves to grow up in a safe, stable, and loving home. Children who need help and protection deserve high quality and effective support. This requires individuals, agencies, and organisations to be clear about their own and each other’s roles and responsibilities, and how they work together.
Complaints Policy
There is a fair way of dealing with issues as they arise in an informal way, but parent/carers may wish to exercise their right to make a formal complaint. They are informed of the procedure to do this and complaints are responded to in a timely way. The same procedures apply to agencies who may have a grievance or complaint.
Equalities and Diversity
We support the definition of inclusion as stated by the Early Childhood Forum:
‘Inclusion is the process of identifying, understanding and breaking down the barriers to participation and belonging.’
Health and Safety
Our provision is a suitable, clean and safe place for children to be cared for, where they can grow and learn. We meet all statutory requirements for health and safety and fulfil the criteria for meeting the Early Years Foundation Stage Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements.
Food & Drink
Patcham Village Pre-school regards snack and meal times as an important part of the setting's day.
Eating represents a social time for children and adults and helps children to learn about healthy eating. We encourage lots of interaction and conversation between both children and adults.
Parent/Carer Partnership
Patcham Village Pre-school recognises the importance of working closely with all families to ensure that children receive consistent care tailored to their individual needs. We value every family and believe that parental involvement from the start provides long term benefit for children, carers and parents.
We believe that our relationship with families is invaluable. We actively encourage parents/carers to take an interest in the day-to-day running of the setting, contributing towards planning the curriculum or helping on trips and visits. We recognise that the children at the setting come from a diversity of backgrounds and we welcome each and every one.
